Re: A Megadrive core?

OK, thanks. In my limited experience memory timing (especially syncing memory reads to the video beam) is the difficult bit everything else is relatively easy. Makes sense that a change of memory type would create a lot of reworking of the core.

Re: A Megadrive core?

For clarity, the response above is saying that Mister could easily handle the Next core but that the Next hardware has issues, especially around RAM types in supporting a Genesis core?

Re: ZEsarUX 8.0 stable

I have a strange issue with the FPS on ZEsarUX. If the window doesn't have focus it will generally run at 50 FPS, but once the window has focus it slows down and has an unstable frame rate, averaging around 25 FPS. My CPU is a i7-8700K and I'm running windows 10 so it should be hitting 50 FPS withou...

Re: ZEsarUX 8.0 stable

Thanks, that makes sense. Is that the same for the 4 bit sprites? If I view them in the debug setting they show properly but changing the register makes no difference to how they are displayed on screen (I did take a look at the TODO but it is in Spanish).

Re: ZEsarUX 8.0 stable

Hi Thanks for another great release. I can't seem to get the ULA Control to work under emulation though, if I set bit 7 of register 0x68 the ULA is still visible and obscures any tilemaps. If the go into Debug and disable the ULA layer there I can see the tilemap properly. Is this a bug or am I usin...

Ah, the top 40 and the joy of having the cassette on rec and pause and timing it perfectly to start recording each song just as the dj stopped talking.

Re: "Pimping" old games to have no attribute clash possible?

A bit short and harsh. If someone took the time to disassemble a game and identify/isolate the character display routines then it wouldn't be that difficult to change them to use the Next's sprites. I reckon a well modded engine such as Dizzy would be a good starting point.

Re: Sad news regarding the Sinclair Vega Plus...

Key point there (I believe) is that JetSetWilly got their refund from their credit card company rather than from RCL. If you paid on credit card I suggest you try the same route. I wonder if Maria let him into the bedroom after getting that refund....
