Welcome Davey. I have a similar collection but, mislaid my Memotech somewhere, I only have the tech. notes left!
I think we may well see a QL core on the Next and I am sure you will not have to wait too long for the second Kickstarter - I think the first is close to shipping now.

I took a look at this when I was developing the BASIC driver - it seems a really good way to expose a minimal set for 8 bit, systems. I became ware of the ZiFi work at the same time but, I was already some way down the track. I have not really done anything with applications due to lack of time and ...

I am no expert but, as you say you will need to be in 48k or 128k mode and disable any conflicting devices. Definitely do not run above 3.5Mhz for the expansion BUS to work - later versions of the system will likely disable it at higher speeds anyway. I think you have already found that the -5v sign...

To get ESXDOS to work on the 48K/128K personality you need to make sure in the config that (SPACE on boot and the E) has DivMMC set to YES (NextZXOS does not need it so ignores it). Also the ROM you need is the file called esxmmc.bin in the ESXDOS0.8.6 distribution - this should be copied into the t...
