Re: DAAD Adventure Writer and ZX Next

AA: You will rewrite the sdcards once more? Wasn't it doing Henrique himself last time at the SMS facility? Can't even recall how long ago that was, I think the cards have now something like 2.00.12 +- ... But I recall "it was the last time, there's no more budget for another rewrite" ... So if you ...

Re: DAAD Adventure Writer and ZX Next

# about (NOT) loading into 0000 area: The write over ROM area is actually NOT possible while loading from disk (you must disable that). I.e. your proposal would not work. That feature has two extra benefits: 1) the [y:x] coordinates are also address into memory (y masked with 63 of course, and corre...

Re: Is it possible to create a "Next" in a ZX-UNO like board?

"I'd like to have a board similar to the one above that is able to run a ZX Spectrum Next core and is in a similar form factor." But AA did answer you. Of course it is possible, but nobody (except one individual creating his "handheld" version of Next) did it so far. I.e. if you are looking for fini...

Re: Unit Tests Framework

Absolutely amazing... so much, that I am even considering touching VSCode (so far my hate is stronger, but you are tempting me a lot, this stuff looks precisely down my alley). Coincidently the sjasmplus itself is nearing 90% coverage ... :D https://coveralls.io/github/z00m128/sjasmplus I'm sort of ...

Re: ZEsarUX 8.0 stable

Yes, ZEsarUX does support only 4B attribute sprites from older 1.x cores (without any relatives or 4/8 bit gfx selectors).
Although the sprites per line limit was raised, and total sprites are now also at 128 IIRC?

Re: zx next just the board

I'm not sure you have correct idea where their profit lies, as basically whole core team does this as volunteers, except the hired professionals for particular tasks (I think for example Rick was regularly hired as production designer, same goes with manufacturing companies creating the boards, case...

Re: zx next just the board

One more thing... the majority of project was promised to be open sourced, i.e. the board schematics, and FPGA firmware will be available, so you can produce your own board yourself any time. AFAIK the case itself will be not opensourced, and the "Sinclair" brand can be used only under special condi...

Re: zx next just the board

The production didn't stop as stop, the production did run precisely to cover only needs of the first kickstarter campaign (about 500 boards, and 3000 cased Nexts). There are plans to start second KS campaign after the first one will be finalized (cased Nexts shipped), so if you want Next, you can g...

Re: Converting to NextBasic

yep. tap is container, you must open it first with NextZXOS with some kind of magic (probably opening it in browser will set up tape emulation?), then you can merge/load particular files from the "tape".
