Re: zx next just the board

One more thing... the majority of project was promised to be open sourced, i.e. the board schematics, and FPGA firmware will be available, so you can produce your own board yourself any time. AFAIK the case itself will be not opensourced, and the "Sinclair" brand can be used only under special condi...

Re: zx next just the board

The production didn't stop as stop, the production did run precisely to cover only needs of the first kickstarter campaign (about 500 boards, and 3000 cased Nexts). There are plans to start second KS campaign after the first one will be finalized (cased Nexts shipped), so if you want Next, you can g...

Re: Converting to NextBasic

yep. tap is container, you must open it first with NextZXOS with some kind of magic (probably opening it in browser will set up tape emulation?), then you can merge/load particular files from the "tape".

Re: Converting to NextBasic

AFAIK you can just load the original ZX basic program into Next BASIC. It should be backward compatible, all the new stuff is just extensions on top of it. So if you have it already as tap, just `merge ""` it (to avoid autostart), and that should be it? About txt2bas/bas2txt sources... I think Garry...

Re: Tilemap code example

you can modify "next-regs" also with OUT instruction, but it works differently. First you must output nextreg number $4C to I/O port $243B ("TBBlue Register Select" I/O port), then you can output value $xx to I/O port $253B ("TBBlue Register Access"), or you can read from the selected nextreg by IN ...

Re: CSpect map files from SJAsmPluss

CSpect MAP files are now directly supported in z00m's branch of sjasmplus: https://github.com/z00m128/sjasmplus/releases
docs: http://z00m128.github.io/sjasmplus/docu ... _cspectmap
(with a bonus of long addresses being supported, which is not possible to extract from SYM file)

Re: symbol disassembly on Cspect

Will do a bit of forum necromancy here, but in case somebody will run into this by using forum search, here are some updates: The sjasmplus (z00m's branch at https://github.com/z00m128/sjasmplus/releases Docs: http://z00m128.github.io/sjasmplus/documentation.html ) has now direct support for CSpect ...

Re: Tilemap code example

How about the skeleton of zxnext editor: https://github.com/next-dev/ed It's pretty much *only* tilemap mode and keyboard handler currently (as Mike is seriously considering to write it rather in C), i.e. should be small enough to trace through it and see if you can find what is different with your ...

Re: How much longer?

Nice, I hope this is reasonably "ok" outcome for you (and I would bet somebody else got very happy about jumping in), have a good time, take care and in case you will ever cross your path with ZXN again, let's hope it will work lot better that time and there will be just fun involved *next* time. :D...
