FUZIX on Next

Post by crgimenes » Sat Jun 09, 2018 11:55 pm

Has anyone ever thought about porting FUZIX to Next?

I like the idea but I've never tried anything like it.

Alan Cox posts here. He may be thinking about it.

It would be great!
I still have a lot to learn from how things work on the Next ... my old machine over two decades in the past could barely load anything through tape.
It's really fun to see what I get with so much RAM and everything.

If this moves on, I definitely need a Next in my portfolio ...
Waiting for shop reopening...

It's on the long list of interesting machines. It ought to run the 128K with DIVMMC port (although that has speed disadvantages due to the lack of real banking). At the moment my ZX effort is going into the ZX Uno and doing a full ZX Uno port doing interesting things with the combined 128K 512 pixel mode, and Timex memory banking. Right now it *almost* works but there is a bug somewhere in the memory bank logic I need to nail.

After that I have 48K Spectrum + DivIDE plus to finish (because it's such a silly idea) and then my ZX Evo.

So lot's on the ZX front to do first.
