Where can I get the MegaLZ compressor?

Post by StealthGary » Mon Sep 03, 2018 12:24 am

So I've been working through a tutorial for Boriel's ZX Basic, and it's introduced the concept of compressing data to insert into screen memory.
Apparantly ZX Basic comes with a decompressor for MegaLZ built in, but I can't seem to find the compressor anywhere.
Can anyone tell me where to get a copy, or suggest whichever alternative the cool kids are using these days?

Thanks!

That doesn't seem to work for me:

Code: Select all

In the link above... all the links on there fail except the source... but the binary is in there as well:
https://code.google.com/archive/p/mhmt/ ... ult/source
If you download the zip, the executable is at: mhmt/tst/win32_mvc2008/mhmt-base.exe

I didn't know ZX7 is compatible with the MegaLZ decompressor that apparently comes built in ZX Basic.

Or if you were just throwing different compressor ideas out there, there are a bunch. (Yes, I'd use zx7 too, but it's not the only game in town..)
