Very sad news to wake up to this morning. My thoughts are with Mr Dickenson's family, friends and colleagues.

From video clips he seemed to be a calm and decent man. His work towards the Spectrum legacy in recent years I would say also suggests a generous person.

Thank you, Rick, and god bless.

Wow, I don't know what to say! Was anyone aware he was ill? As far as I knew he was eagerly beavering away with the Next case. A sad day indeed for the computing world. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I have just been using one of his iconic Rubber Key 48K machines (hooked up my newly repaired DISCiPLE) when I saw the post and I have to say it is unbelievable he is gone having heard him speak at Spectrum 35 with such enthusiasm for his last incarnation of the Spectrum (Next)... my thoughts with all his family and friends and the community who will be deeply saddened by this news.

I'm lost for words. This has come as a shock, I didn't know he was ill.

This came out of nowhere
His designs for Sinclair were iconic and a very big part of my youth.
The design of Next is beautiful and fantastic.
Truly true to say "Gone, but never forgotten"! As through his designs, he will live forever.
RIP Rick and condolences to family...
