DeltaShadow: 8-Button-Kempston-Compatible Joystick

Howdy! I suppose I'm not the only one who purchased this excellent game. In the first rush I tried to play it with a usual Atari/Kempston-compatible "5-Button-Joystick" (a modded Sinclair SJS-2 to be more precise...) - but learned that this it's more or less impossible with this device. The ominous ...

Re: A BASIC text editor

Hi!

Oh, very nice. Just tested the 0.2 version - looks promising. As someone who once wrote an text editor in Sinclair BASIC on a classic 3,5 MHz machine I'm sure a Next can do that much better (and faster). Thanks for the effort!

Re: Next diagnostic query

Yes, there is. It comes conveniently with your ZX Spectrum Next! :-) It resides on the Boot-SD-Card at...ahem....(just booting up the Next behind me...) "C:/Extras/Nextest/Nextest.nex"- The manual to the program should be there, too.

Re: Connect to a PC

Oh, yes, I think i'll be working on this quickly. I'm not familiar with DivMMC so I don't know if relevant information is easily available, but even if can't easily manage to mount a .mdr file as a drive, at least writing a utility to parse its contents and transfer it to regular DivMMC/NextOS file...

Re: Connect to a PC

For the microdrives part, I've bought a Vdrive ZX, but the SD card contents may not been directly readable by the Next, so a PC might probably be useful as an intermediate to sort files and send them back to the Next own storage. Ehem, while we're already there: Anyone writing a "driver" for mounti...

Re: ZX Interface 1 and TS 2040 Printer

Oh, thanks for the tip. I'll saved this to a (real) tape - so I can start the 48K/IF1-session by just loading that tiny auto-run Basic program. Very convenient.

Re: ZX Interface 1 and TS 2040 Printer

Ok, upgrading to System/Next 1.3.2 did the trick. With the new core the conflict between TS2040 printer and an activated Interface 1 seems to be cured. So to have both working in the 48K personality I did: 10 OUT 9275, 135: OUT 9531, 246 20 OUT 9275, 128: OUT 9531,8 RUN (Soft Reset) OUT 9275, 136: O...

ZX Interface 1 and TS 2040 Printer

I'm not on Facebook, so I'll try to look for help here. I'm referencing Paul Young's thread here: Paul Young's IF1/TS2010 Post ...where he wrote: I'm pleased to let you know that with Phoebus Dokus guidance I can see what I was doing wrong. I made the naive assumption that adding the OUTS for the Pr...

Re: Cannot load some games from cassette

I could - more or less - solve my tape loading problem with my Next. By pure chance I were able to get one of those rather rare Timex TC2010 Computer Program Recorders, which features "digital recording". With this device I were able to load commercial software (i.e. Jetpac). Loading and saving work...
