Magnetic Scrolls - save states ?

These free text adventures look very tempting but as they are Next versions is there any way to save progress ? I don't believe we can create snapshots for Next software in the current distro so have the creators provided save options within the games ?

mClassic

Apologies if this is a daft question, I don't know tech stuff ! I've seen a gadget called the mClassic which is basically an upscaler that improves the picture and graphics of gaming consoles and is compatible with anything that can output HDMI at a minimum of 480p. I know it will work with the Wii,...

Re: Wireless controller option - will this work?

Sounds like it is not fully in, as we've said before you have to be a bit brave to wiggle them in far enough . If you don't want to risk the socket on the next then get an extension cable, plug the dongle into the cable firmly (little damage you can do here) and the the cable into the next. Too sca...

Re: Joystick for Spectrum Next

Ah, ok thanks. I'm not much of a techie so I think I'll wait for the official distro, I don't want to mess up my Next by mistake !

Re: Wireless controller option - will this work?

If yours are genuinely loose, I'd suggest wrapping some electrical tape round the connector to get a snug fit. I finally got around to trying this and unfortunately it didn't make any difference. I've now realised that the problem is that the dongle doesn't seem to go fully into the socket for some...

Re: Joystick for Spectrum Next

There is one compelling reason to choose a sega md pad :- in recent cores, the buttons can be assigned to keys on the keyboard. That means you can control 11 keyboard keys from the controller. That sounds awesome. How do we get hold of these cores ? I've only ever updated mine using the official 'l...

Re: Delta's Shadow Launching Christmas Day

Looks fantastic, but the physical version is a bit of a leap in price from previous Next games - €39. I guess Baggers In Space is now considered a budget release ! Having said that I'm very tempted, I think I'll download the demo first and give it a go.

NB - digital version is only €5

Re: Wireless controller option - will this work?

I got the M30 2.4g version and as a controller it's great, but a word of warning - the dongle doesn't fit in the joystick port properly, it's a bit loose. I've tried it in both ports and it makes no difference. So sometimes I have to fiddle with it until it works, seems to be that if I prop it up a ...

Re: Monitors

Thanks for the update Mr Clump. That's a shame, I was looking at the BL702a and it looked good. Let us know if you find any decent alternatives.
