Re: Wireless file transfer to the Next: Is there something available?

Lovely work - just what is needed - file save is very simple using the ESXDOS API and not very hard using the NextZXOS one if you have used the Plus3 or the Amstrad DOS systems. Shout if you want any help...

Re: from Japan

Great news glad it works. Did you get all the rest of the distribution as well so that you have the latest FW 1.10c and NextZXOS2.00B ?

Re: Writing directly to memory

You can use the Serial port on the Next as long as you do not want the ESP WiFi chip. Just needs a level converter (to use with a real RS232 port) and some software. @KevB on this board does all his development (and he does a lot as one of the developers of the core test modules) that way from his o...

Re: Games & SD Card

The games have a copy of the minimum OS needed to boot (often older but, obviously good enough for that game) so you can just power on with them in and they go straight into the game. In the case of Adrian's games they all assume HDMI timing. For convenience (or if you want to use a different timing...

Lovely bit of work and an interesting site - I look forward to what those who can actually draw (unlike me) produce.

Re: Bank switch to Next OS

NextOS runs with a Spectrum ROM in place? Or at least very close based on the 128K rom set I believe.

Re: Pi accelerator I2C

Sorry, as in the notes this is a work in progress as a bit of a side hobby as the i2c bus was added at a late stage - the the PI does not yet send the ACK back down the wire which is why you have to use the -d option on pi2c - note that the real early RTC code did the same thing. That said, it shoul...

Re: 0.9 Update is awesome .... but

There is no SAVE or LOAD command for data as yet in NextZXOS in 48K mode. If you have loaded ESXDOS 0.8.6 (the full release NOT the Beta 4) which means you have to replace the ROM file with the one supplied with ESXDOS (not rename the one on the SD) then the ESXDOS SAVE * and LOAD* from 0.8.5 will w...

Re: NextBuild 0.3b Toolset

If you can give specific examples of things then usually there are people with the same setup who can see if they get the same effect. Are you using the Windows integrated build tool from emook as you will need his help. If you are just using other tools to emulate the Next then a specific post may ...

Re: Dot Commands - the final word

I chose "CRT_ENABLE_COMMANDLINE = 2" in the pragmas so that the crt will deliver the command line as esxdos delivers it. The crt passes one additional bit of information - the command line's length. You could use other values for "CRT_ENABLE_COMMANDLINE" including the default 3, in which case the c...
