Re: ZEsarUX beta 24 July 2017

Interesting. The laptop has an ST LIS3LV02DL Accelerometer which is available through /dev/input/js0. I have a pretty good idea what this is, the laptop has a HP 3D Driveguard feature, designed to protect the harddisk by quickly retracting the heads in case the laptop is dropped. It responds if I ti...

Re: ZEsarUX beta 24 July 2017

The laptop is a HP Probook 6550b which is a business i5 laptop. Being a business model is has some other hardware compared to a home user model (like Display port instead of HDMI and analog VGA). But it also still has an RS232 9 pin serial port and maybe that is causing the trouble. However still cu...

Re: ZEsarUX beta 24 July 2017

I created the logs an put them in a zip file because of the size (not that big but too big to paste here). The zipfile is located on my Google drive https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0GYni_eBXpQTkktSFhRb0pTTVk (hopefully this link is allowed here) By the looks of it, it looks like some problem with...

Re: ZEsarUX beta 24 July 2017

On my Linux Mint Sonya system, ZEsarUX has a problem. It looks like its getting constant keystrokes with a flashing K and no key, including F5, gives a response. Just starting ZEsarUX without options. This ZEsarUX was installed about two months ago and ran fine at the time. I hadn't reinstall it and...

Re: Which z88dk version is good?

It's rare that you'd want anything to do with the basic system because it's so slow. Yes, it is only for development, at the end it exits main(), so when I want to rerun I type RUN and it will load the tap file again. Especially for ZEsarUX which you have to use for sprites, since it is slow to sta...

Re: Which z88dk version is good?

I was looking at the score now. Currently I'm using draw functions to draw the score, and when updating I need to undraw the parts I do not need. Maybe I choose a faster method later because it is not very fast this way, but as first prototype it will do. However this did not work the way I expected...

Re: Which z88dk version is good?

Henk you are some kind of bug whisperer :D I'm glad you're finding these so they can be dealt with. Honestly, it is all by accident  . But with the speed they are fixed I can't complain. It is the wrong way to do things for C because of var args as you say. I think not only C, but also Pascal ...

Re: Which z88dk version is good?

Well, the special function registers work, however something strange is happening in sccz80: what_sfr.c: #include <stdlib.h> __sfr __banked __at 254 SINCLAIR_ZX_SPECTRUM_BORDER; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { (void) argc; (void) argv; SINCLAIR_ZX_SPECTRUM_BORDER = 2; return 0; } zcc +zx -vn -lnd...

Re: Which z88dk version is good?

Thank you for your reply and taking your time to do so. I hope other readers will benefit from it too, for me that's the whole point of writing it down here. I'm still on a learning curve ramp with z88dk so not familiar with the current developments and the state of it. Good to know the new librarie...

Re: Which z88dk version is good?

I continued with the zsdcc compiler but I keep having issues to get the first sprite on screen. I try to show sprite 0 and for now I only want it to show up so put fixed coordinates 100, 100. ZEsarUx keeps crashing on me. Any idea what I do wrong? (rhetoric question as I answered myself below while ...
