Re: What's "Copper Audio system"

As KevB said, it's using the copper to feed the DAC in the Specdrum/Covox. All that really happens is there is a wait for each line, then a MOVE of a value to the SpecDrum port for every scanline of the screen. This is much like the Amiga's DMA worked. This gives you an 8 bit sample rate of 15,550Kh...

Re: Creating SNA files for CSpect

The only thing stored is the return address - which is what stacks do. And since you will need a stack, it's going to be there anyway, and you can fill it with 0's if you really want. Game code will initialise everything anyway, so there is zero harm in it. Loading from tape doesn't initialise anyth...

Re: Creating SNA files for CSpect

Slowing down? Nextos in ZEsarUX boots in 10 seconds. Anyway, as you may know, cspect is not a full Next emulator (and ZEsarUX is a full emulator). About sna, you shouldn’t use that format. It’s an old and ugly format, you’d better use tap Unless you're doing BASIC, you don't need a full emulator - ...

Lemmings source code

I've put the ZX Spectrum Next version of the Lemmings source up on Github so you can follow along as I do stuff. You wont be able to build/run yourself yourself yet, as the tools and data aren't there - but you will be able to see/pinch code if you like. At some point it will all be up there.... too...

No, in non-ULA next mode, inks are 0-15, and papers 16-31.

Re: How to select colours in Timex hi-res mode?

The pre-defined ones (bits 3-5) will work on the actual hardware I'm told, but I've not done this in CSpect yet though.... tis on the list.

In terms of changing colours using the palettes, the paper index did change from 128 to 16 in a firmware update, and CSpect now does the same.
