Re: ZEsarUX 7.0

"Bad nextmmc.rom" appears, although once - just once - it loaded up okay and I could enter NextOS. That time I didn't press space for the menu, but I've not been able to replicate it. MMC Emulation and DIVMMC paging are on.

A Megadrive core?

Would the Next's Spartan 6 FPGA be able to handle a Megadrive core? If so, how difficult would it be to set it up?

Cheers.

This demo actually sells me on the Next's capabilities. But to be showing off your own language at the same time...that commands respect!

Amazing work, Kevin.

Re: greetings from London

Speccy Gauntlet rocks! ^_^ The Vega appears to be overpriced for what it is and to be honest, I think you'll do far better with a Raspberry Pi and the Fuse emulator. The big advantage for the Pi is that it uses HDMI instead of the composite cables that come with the Vega. Also, the Pi itself is very...

Re: First Demo from My New Programming Language, Elena

I've just gone back into gimp...done exactly what you have just said and immediately just saved it as a bitmap. Why didn't I do that before instead of buggering around with building a palette from scratch? What possessed me? Meanwhile, on the bridge of the Enterprise, Captain Jean Luc Picard is expe...

Re: First Demo from My New Programming Language, Elena

Just a quick update on that horrible palette issue - I found a program called IrfanView that can take an image created with MSPaint and will generate a "best guess" palette and save it into the bitmap file. Loss of colour is something to watch out for but its at least workable. Thanks for the help t...

KevB - you have a Sega Multi-Mega? Gawd, I wanted one of those as a youngster! Does yours still work? It does still work although the CD drive packed up around 2000 lol. It was in the bargain bin of some high street electrical store for £89... they didn't sell but not surprised at £399 so the store...
