Re: Occult world of zx wargaming

Deadpan666, my brother bought that issue back in the day! I think it was a samurai-ninja themed issue with Dynasty Wars and Ninja Spirit.

Samurai is a brilliant game and I still play it now and again. Shame it only had one map, though...

Re: Hello all, Paul D from the Retro Asylum here :)

The name rings a bell - like the one at the end of Burton's Batman...my good sir, have you contributed to several computer magazines over the years?

Re: Hello from the UK!

OMG, you two have spent 20 years in the dungeons? Your poor things! I've been programming all my life but never a career in it. I hear bad things about ridiculously long hours and poor treatment. Saying that, I am working on a small game for Android game. I really like those old "choose your own adv...

Re: First Steps in Z80 Assembly Language (video tutorials)

Cheers for uploading these videos, Darryl. I was losing my mind trying to find a way to try my hand at Assembly code, and your series fit the bill. I can happily program in C and Java, but Assembly has me lost. Just glad ZXSpin comes with an easy to use Assembler, because I simply couldn't do it wit...

Re: Hello from the UK!

Ahhhhh the days of maps sent in by readers. I bet quite a few of them went on to careers in graphic design! This actually brings back memories of that time when Hero Quest was made by Gremlin Graphics and a reader won a prize for "tipster of the month" by sending the magazine the maps from the board...

Re: Way overpriced

I can only speak for myself; I'm sure the people delievering the Next feel justified that its worth the asking price, but from this customer's side of the counter...its a revised spectrum that rivals a laptop in price. The machine itself is lovely, but it doesn't have a screen, a dvd drive, a batter...

Re: Hello from the UK!

Hello Flinster. I used to get YS but also the odd copy of SU. Sadly, I never got any issues of Crash, although looking through the archives on WOS I wish I had!

One day, ckirby101, I will venture that far north! Are you enjoying the summer in your neck of the woods?

Hello from the UK!

Hello fellow Spec-chums! My name is Steve and I'm from the UK. Just up the road from Cambridge... The Spectrum meant a lot to many in the UK, and although it was considered an underpowered machine, it was affectionately known as a computer for the people for being affordable and providing a gateway ...
