Thanks very much for the comprehensive answer. The idea with the high priority sprite at the border is very good, especially if used with horizontal interrupts. That should do for my game port. So that means the sprite border is/will be programmable, That would be really great. E.g. the current right side border is 287. I would like to change that to e.g. 200. Then a sprite at position 192 would be shown only half size, right? I.e. the left part of the sprite is out-of-border, invisible. W...

I would like to display a panel (score, number of ships etc.) on the right side of the screen.
On the left side there should be sprites but the sprites should not move over the panel of course.
So, can I set the extend of the border programmatically?
