I don't believe many c64 era joysticks used microswitches, they normally used metal arms and dome contacts. My first microswitched joystick was the competition pro and that was for the Amiga so maybe the c64 mini is more authentic than you think.
I'm not sure, but the model they used for C64 Mini might be a reproduction of a pro-stick from the time which used microswitches. I'm guessing thats why most reviews are negative towards the stick.

As for the keyboard, they have gone the extra mile and provided not only the ability to use a standard USB keyboard but also a digital keyboard by using the provided joystick.
Does this mean that the USB keyboard is some sort of weird analog thing that tells you not only which keys have been pressed, but how far down or how hard?
No, the C64 Mini does not come with a physical keyboard as the one you see on the unit is fake. You can however plug in a standard USB keyboard and use that instead. I do recommend watching the reviews on Youtube to get a better idea of the C64 Mini and how it works.

Only issue I've heard of regarding using a USB keyboard is that the button mapping is not entirely correct, so I'm guessing that one might have to use both the USB keyboard and the digital "on-screen" keyboard.

The point is, to the best of my knowledge, ALL computer keyboards are digital.

You should read more carefully. He wrote about a Digital (on-screen) keyboard for use with joystick.

Skip ahead to 3:42 for a demonstration of the virtual keyboard - which admittedly is a better term for it.

A considerable period of time has been available from my post.

In the facebook, I found a post saying "I bought a birthday gift for what I found in the forum." It seems that one joystick is bundled.

SID was never in the specs. There was no mention of it on the Kickstarter.
I had a reply as if I had posted that "I wanted SID but it was betrayed".

When I think about it, I started posting on this forum to ask what the "FM sound" written on the kick starter is.
After that, "Turbosound Next" announced that FM will not be implemented and SID will be implemented.
In order to respond to reality, I found "INSIDIOUS 6581 Soft Synthesizer" and bought a MIDI keyboard for that performance (although it is also to remind me of the days when I was doing desktop music with a MIDI module).
The description of "FM sound" of the kick starter has not disappeared.

Kickstarter specs can't be changed after they are published. But it was said many times here and on the Facebook that unfortunately there will not be FM sound on the Next. But since this is an open source project, I'm sure that it will be made available later in some customised core.
