Found a good program for learning BASIC again

Post by SpectrumOldi » Wed Oct 03, 2018 7:51 am

My knowledge of BASIC is rusty, since I haven't used it since the 80s. In the 90s it was Turbo Pascal and in the 2000s it was Javascript I was doing.

I've downloaded and installed BASin, by Paul Dunn and bought all the books in the Step by Step Programming ZX Spectrum series(for the original ZX Spectrum). It's all about reviving dormant knowledge still sitting in my brain somewhere. Do a search for basin here: http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseek.cgi.

I want to move to Next Basic later and then Next machine code if possible. I learned 8086 machine code in the early 90s in college, but never used it. I have some ideas for games which I hope to develop.

Try the updated BasinC: http://arda.kisafilm.org/blog/?page_id=848&lang=en
Thanks. Installed it as well.

Edit: BasinC seems to be better with more functions. I will use this one.
