Load and Save

Postby Zxspooks » Thu Sep 17, 2020 8:52 pm

Hi,
I thought i'd try and blow the dust of my grey matter after over 30yrs since i last used a speccy. So starting from scratch I have been going through the manual next basic programs from the beginning and saving them on the sd root directory, via the standard save"lesson 9" etc and have now copy and pasted the files into a new root directory called MyPrograms to keep things neat, but when i go to Load "program 9" it says file not found, how do I direct the ie load "program #number#" command to the program file within the Myprograms directroy?
Thank you

You can edit your own posts, it's not necessary to post your question again. Top right corner, the "pen" icon.

As you changed the location of your program, you have two alternatives:

1.- Change your working directory to MyPrograms:
cd "MyPrograms"
load "program 9"

2.- Load using the full path:
load "/MyPrograms/program 9"

File handling is no different from a Unix-like OS, or even MS-DOS. I'd still recommend you to read Chapter 20 of the manual if you want the full explanation.
