We did it together -- again!

A little over three years ago we were celebrating the success of our first Kickstarter, excited with the prospect of finally bringing the ZX Spectrum Next to life, thanks to the backing of more than 3,100 members of the community who put their trust and hopes in our hands.

Fast forward to today: the Issue 2 has raised more than twice the original crowdfunding, and added 5,200 members to the Next community. We smashed through our wildest dreams by getting funded in a mere five minutes of the campaign going live, unlocking every stretch goal and wrapping up with a whopping £1.8million in pledges.

The sheer amount of support, passion and dedication to the ZX Spectrum is simply unbelievable, 38 years on since its debut and we keep on going from strength to strength. Clearly, there’s no stopping the mighty Spectrum!

In the coming weeks, as we start working to manufacture and deliver your Next, we’ll be unveiling some neat surprises we’ve been getting lined up in the past few weeks. We’ve got to show you the results of the stretch goals, update on the progress of the games in development, and announce some new titles that will be made exclusively for the Next -- expect the unexpected…

For the meantime, we thought it would be nice to share with you the tests of the new SD card printing process, now in full colour and with some more room to store all your things.

As a next step we’ll soon send you a form via Kickstarter where you will fill in your current address and any additional information (for instance, overpledges and what they are for). This will allow us to consolidate the total numbers of units to manufacture and get production started.

In the meantime sit back, relax, and celebrate in the knowledge that you’re responsible for making the ZX Spectrum Next Issue 2 a reality, driving it into the future. Thank you for believing in the project and the team -- and above all, for making this all happen.
